“When we fought in the national democratic revolution, we were not fighting for a mere vote, a disjointed national anthem (with “Die Stem”) and a colourful flag. Our fight was about the transfer of both political and economic power to the people, where the people were to completely govern and the wealth was to be democratically shared amongst all South Africans. We never fought for a power-sharing arrangement with our former oppressors and current neo-colonial exploiters.”
